The General Missionary Department is thrilled to announce the appointment of four new missionaries serving with The Churches of Christ in Christian Union. Stephen and Bethany Taylor, Barb Thomas, and Christina McBride join Teresa Bowman and Jake Routzahn as new CCCU missionaries, for a total of six new CCCU missionaries this year!
These new missionaries are godly people with tremendous skill sets and great burdens for lost people. You can read more about these new missionaries below.
- Stephen & Bethany Taylor (U.S. Southwest Ministries – formerly “American Indian Field”): Stephen and Bethany have been appointed to serve in Arizona. They will minister to Native Americans on the Gila River Reservation and surrounding areas. Stephen will minister through addiction recovery ministries and support the ministries of Siloam Church, a Native congregation on the reservation where CCCU Missionaries Steve and Debbie Cartwright are pastoring. Bethany has a burden to share the love of Christ and disciple young women. You can learn more about Stephen, Bethany, and their ministry here.
- Barb Thomas (Texas-Mexico Border): Barb has been appointed to pioneer a new ministry on the Texas-Mexico Border. She will launch a Christian community center in Laredo, Texas, in conjunction with our CCCU congregation in Laredo (Iglesia Evangelica Union Cristiana). We anticipate a variety of ministries at the community center, including English as a Second Language classes, tutoring, and much more. These ministries will serve as a platform for evangelizing and discipling children, youth, and families in Laredo. You can learn more about Barb and her ministry here.
- Christina McBride (Texas-Mexico Border): Christina was appointed by World Gospel Mission in 2002. After serving in Stockton, California, working with inner-city children and youth, God then began to show she that He had a new ministry. Christina now serves with the Texas-Mexico Border Ministries team at Taylor Community Center. After attending the CCCU congregation in McAllen (Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana) for several years, Christina felt God leading her take the next step in her connection with the church. In June 2023, Christina became a member Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana. As a member of CCCU, she now joins the ranks for our CCCU Missionary team. You can learn more about Christina and her ministry here.
Stephen and Bethany Taylor and Barb Thomas are actively building their respective support teams. They need prayer partners and monthly financial supporters to join them in their ministries. Visit www.cccuhq.org/donate to make a recurring gift or special gift to their ministry. Stephen, Bethany, and Barb are available to speak at services, personal meetings, special events, Sunday School classes, and small groups.
