Easter is over so now what do we do? We have celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. This is the greatest story ever told. The King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s gave Himself as a sacrificial lamb for you and me. Jesus suffered and died a horrible death on a cross between two thieves. When He was taken from the cross, He was placed in a borrowed tomb on Friday. Sunday, three days later, He rose from the dead. This is the greatest story ever told and so many celebrated the resurrection of Jesus on Easter. Well Easter is over so now what are we to do?

We are to do the same thing the disciples did after Jesus ascended back to the Father. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit and fulfill the Great Commission.

Matthew 28:18-20: 18. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Jesus gave the disciples this command and then He sent the Holy Spirit to fill their hearts and empower them, and then He sent them into the world to tell the powerful story of Easter. We might ask why? This is why: ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.’

It is urgent that we who are disciples of Jesus fulfill the Great Commission. As Jesus sent out His disciples then, He wants to send out His disciples today. I pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and for laborers who will go into the harvest field (the world) which is ripe and ready to be harvested.

When you have been transformed by God’s love, you can’t help but want others to experience the same grace and freedom. But how do we share this transforming message with others. One way is to B.L.E.S.S. them. Thank you, Pastor Chris Johnson, for sharing the book B.L.E.S.S. with us. Rev. David Dean and the Evangelism Department have been using the B.L.E.S.S. concept, and we want to share this with you.

B. – The B in Bless stands for Begin with Prayer. Over and over again we see Jesus stop what He is doing to find a place to pray. If we want the anointing of God, we need to begin with prayer. Ask the Lord who it is He wants you to B.L.E.S.S.

L. – The L stands for Listen. When we listen, we are telling that person we value them and care for them. Listening is the way we find out what they need. We will find out what they think of God when we listen.

E. – E is for eating. Everybody loves to eat. We break down barriers and build trusting relationships as we fellowship and eat with one another.

S. – S is for serve. Jesus said He came to serve. Our attitude should be to serve those we wish to Bless.

S. – This S is for Story. When the person God wants you to Bless is ready, that is the time to tell them your story. This is time to let them know how much the Lord has changed your life.

Easter is over so now what do we do? We fulfill the Great Commission and B.L.E.S.S. those with whom we share the Good News. The need is urgent, and the time is now.
