The Ministerial Benevolence Fund was established by CCCU ministers in 1937. The purposes of the fund are to:
- Demonstrate Christian love by giving a monetary gift to support ministry families upon the death of a minister or his/her spouse,
- Pray for the families who have lost a loved one, and
- Notify ministers and their spouses of the death of any member of the group.
Upon the death of a member, the surviving spouse or family currently receive a benevolent gift of $2,000. This ministry has been a genuine blessing to hundreds of families.
How to Join the Ministerial Benevolence Fund
Membership is open to any licensed minister of The Churches of Christ in Christian Union (Ordained, Council Licensed, or Local Licensed) and the spouse of a minister. Dues
Upon application, new members must submit initial dues of $5.00 per member. Members will be notified any time another member passes away. Dues can be remitted upon each passing or paid in advance.
Dues can be paid by online or by check. Checks can be mailed to the Ministerial Benevolence Fund at 1553 Lancaster Pike, Circleville, OH 43113. Please make checks payable to The Churches of Christ in Christian Union, with "Ministerial Benevolence Fund" in the memo line.
