Ralph Hux is an ordained minister with the Churches of Christ in Christian Union. He has six years of pastoral ministry experience and currently serves as the General Secretary of the CCCU.
The Office of the General Secretary is responsible for oversight of the Department of Communications, General Church Extension Department, and various other administrative functions. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Ohio Christian University in the Bible/theology department.
He has an undergraduate degree in Christian Ministries from Ohio Christian University (formerly Circleville Bible College), a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary.
Ralph resides in Chillicothe, Ohio is married to Becky (Norman) and they have one daughter, Danielle. His hobbies include music, reading (especially American History and Presidential biographies).
The Department of Communications exists to assist the denomination in all areas of printed and public information.
The primary responsibilities of the department are the bimonthly publication of The Evangelical Advocate and the maintenance of the denominational database. The department also supervises the development of the layout and design of most denominational communications, collects from the districts their annual church statistics and publishes the Yearbook and is responsible for the updated revision and publication of the Manual/Constitution and Bylaws.
The Evangelical Advocate is the official magazine of the Churches of Christ in Christian Union. Its purposes are:
- To communicate the entire gospel including themes of doctrine, evangelism and the practical applications of Biblical principles within Christian living;
- To report on the ministries and services rendered by the various arms and departments of the Churches of Christ in Christian Union;
- To promote the development, progress and improvements of various interests of the Churches of Christ in Christian Union.
