The General Church Extension Department is excited to announce the 2026 Church Extension Offering. Churches across the denomination will begin receiving this offering to launch new churches, support the training of church planters, assist church plants with start up costs, and enable new churches to launch effectively.

Why do we plant new churches and undertake revitalization projects?

The evidence clearly demonstrates that starting strong new churches is the most effective evangelistic strategy in the world. People who don't currently attend church are more willing to try a new church than to visit an established church. A higher percentage of believers who attend new churches invite unsaved friends to church than do believers from established churches.

Furthermore, the number of churches in America is not keeping up with population growth. That means there aren't enough entry points for the unsaved to find or be found by a community of believers.

Please join us in prayer over all of our current church extension projects:

  • The Miracle in Mansfield, Ohio. This church had been closed for nearly two years. The church was reorganized and reopened on September 14, 2025 by a joint venture between the Church of the Nazarene and the Churches of Christ in Christian Union. The church is now Freedom Church of Mansfield. The pastors are Fred and Jessica Dible. The church is now averaging over 100 per Sunday.
  • The Washington Court House Heritage Church is planting a new Hispanic Church on their Campus. Pastor Jorge Pacheco has moved from Louisville, KY to Washington Court House to plant a Hispanic Church. There is currently a core group meeting on Sundays at the Heritage Church Kline Youth Center. Pastor Jorge is also helping the Bookwalter Church with Pastor Mike Williams to establish a Hispanic
    Church there.
  • Muncie, Indiana. The Muncie 23 rd Street CCCU Church closed in the early spring of 2025. The church is debt free and is in good condition but needs to be updated. There is a large growing population of Hispanic people in Muncie. The desire is to plant a Hispanic Church with Pastor Erin Rodriguez and his wife Luz Maria Barjas. Pastor Erin and Luz are working to build a core group in Muncie.
  • Bell, Florida Foundations 1:29 Church. In May of 2025 this church was in crisis. As a result of our prayersGod has worked a miracle in Bell. This church had been receiving Church Extension support to be able to keep the doors open. In the spring, of 2025 the church called Pastor Heath and Angela Bennett as pastor. The Bennetts are from the Freedom Ministries Church in Frankfort, Ohio. They have now moved to Bell
    and the church is stabilizing.
  • Portsmouth, Ohio Iglesia Luz Admirable. Pastor Johan Mendoza and Yancis Paez began services in the spring of 2024, The Cedar Street Church in New Boston and the Lucasville Church have been helping the church financially in order to see this new plant succeed. The church is now financially stable and is running 45 in morning worship.
  • Tucson, Arizona Iglesia Cristo Es La Respuesta CCCU. This church has been adopted by our denomination and has opened the door the conversations with other churches in the Arizona Region. The South Central District helped completely remodel, refurbish and renovate the  old Monte Vista CCCU church and parsonage preparing for this new church. The church is now financially independent and fully paying its
denominational budgets to support other ministries. This church is planning for a Holiness Summit in January and has brought 3 new potential pastors to the South Central District Board of Examination for ministerial license.
  • Byesville, Ohio. Pastor Jorge and Juanita Chavarria from the Metairie, Louisiana CCCU Church have relocated to the Byesville, Ohio community to reopen a church that had been closed. This church has begun worship services and are working with sponsor churches Gahanna, Ohio Hispanic Church and Pastor Lucas Rivera along with the Brookside Church in Chillicothe with Pastor Ryan Bash.
  • The Elim Fellowship Church in Hillside New Jersey. In October the Elim Fellowship Church celebrated its 5th Anniversary. The church began as an online church during the covid pandemic and now is preparing to purchase a permanent location. Pastor Bowles Taitt continues to lead this church in growth spiritually and numerically.
  • Pierrepoint Holiness Chapel. This newly adopted church was in serious decline when Pastor Bill and Holly Babcock assumed the leadership of the church last year. The church is now thriving and growing. The church is impacting the community around them and even giving offerings to help other churches get started.
  • The West Indies CCCU District. Shekinah Place Church in Trinidad is celebrating its 61 st Anniversary by helping plant new churches in Venezuela, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the Congo West Africa.
