The Board of Trustees seeks a visionary leader with experience in academic and administrative roles. The next president must embrace and advocate the doctrinal position and educational mission of the university. ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY:

Ohio Christian University was founded in 1948 and quickly became known as Circleville Bible College. It was established for the purpose of educating clergy for the Churches of Christ in Christian Union. While remaining true to its founders’ vision, Ohio Christian University has expanded its outreach by becoming accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It offers over 40 degree programs grounded in the liberal arts tradition and shaped by our Christian worldview. Academic programs range from associate and bachelor’s to various master’s degree options, as well as many certificates. The University serves residential undergraduate students, online students, high school dual-enrollment students, and graduate students. OCU remains committed to offering a complete education that develops students intellectually, professionally, and spiritually. Ohio Christian University’s main campus is located in Circleville, Ohio.

The ideal candidate for role of president will possess a unique blend of spiritual, academic, and leadership competencies, experiences, and skills. The presidential candidate will:

  • Commit to the mission and vision of Ohio Christian University
  • Align with the Wesleyan-Arminian doctrine and commit to the theological values and traditions of the Churches of Christ in Christian Union
  • Demonstrate competencies of a visionary leader who inspires students, faculty, and staff
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with reach to a variety of stakeholders (students, staff, faculty, community, donors, alumni)
  • Lead in a manner that prioritizes shared governance in a collaborative environment
  • Commit to serve as chief fundraiser, engaging foundations, corporations, and donors to secure and expand the financial assets of the university
  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing university funds and resources to ensure long-term sustainability in an enrollment-driven institution
  • Articulate an understanding of the impact of changing trends in higher education
  • Possess a terminal degree from an accredited institution
