DIRECTOR OF CHURCH EXTENSION
Rev. Ralph Hux Phone: 740-474-8856 Update - March 2010 Sometimes opportunity only knocks once. Other times the pursuit is persistent. Jesus stated in the Sermon on the Mount, "Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks" (Matthew 7:7-8 NLT). Opportunity continues to knock on the "door of opportunity" for the Church Extension Department. I would like to quickly relay just two. The Hispanic Ministry continues to make strides forward. The final necessary pieces for the inauguration of a Hispanic work with Heritage Memorial Church in Washington CH, Ohio should be finalized by the time this article is circulated. Pastor David Ordonoz is launching a ministry in Washington CH similar to the one he is doing in cooperation with the Beacon of Hope Church in Columbus, Ohio. Continue to pray that these ministries will bear much fruit and that the efforts and hours spent on the initial ground work will result in great rewards. Tim Tabor has established a new ministry in Worthington, Ohio. Grace Ministries Church in Columbus, Ohio released Tim in February allowing his full attention toward the establishment of this new work. Tim and his wife, Beth, understand this to be God's calling for them at this point in their ministry. They are passionate, committed and driven. God is opening opportunities for them and has blessed them with a place of worship. The West Central District office and the General Church Extension Department toured the facilities two weeks before Christmas and concurred that the Holy Spirit has something special ahead for this new ministry effort. Continue to pray for God's guidance and leadership as this potential congregation organizes and formulates. I must thank God for the outstanding Thanksgiving offering. As of the first week of January 2010, we have received $25,652. This figure is very close to meeting the projected budget. Our projected budget was $27,200. We are so close to meeting this goal. The South Central District exceeded expectations for this offering by almost $2,000. The West Central District and Northeast District are so close to meeting budget and helping us obtain our expectations. If you have not reported your Thanksgiving offering or if there are still offerings that could be applied, please send them to the Global Ministry Center. New ministries are depending on our faithful support. Update - November 2009 We are very proud of the progress in our church plants. New Hispanic Ministries in Columbus, Ohio Un Pastor Para Columbus Por Favor A new congregation has now been established on the west side of Columbus, Ohio. This church is the result of an existing congregation's dream and vision of ministry in west Columbus. The Beacon of Hope Church realized that churches can launch other churches. This new congregation was established as the result of the cooperative efforts of the South Central District, the West Central District, the General Church Extension Department, and The Sanctified Church. This new congregation already has a pastor and a fully equipped meeting facility. Not only are they like no other congregation in our denomination but they are the result of Pastor David Barth and his church's recognition for ministry opportunities among the growing Hispanic population of Columbus. Reverend David Ordonoz of The Sanctified Church in Atlanta moved to Columbus the middle of July and began ministry immediately. The Hispanic congregation meets at the Beacon of Hope Church on Sundays and has access to the church throughout the week. Along with financial assistance from the General Church Extension Department, Beacon of Hope Church and the West Central District our Sedalia Church has made available and is renting to the Ordonoz family a newly acquired house. Should the Heritage Memorial Church get a Hispanic ministry underway, this house will be perfectly located between the west side of Columbus and Washington CH allowing Pastor David Ordonoz to serve as a Shepherd at both locations. This new ministry has truly been a God-thing! Pray for God's continued blessing on this project and that God will raise up other churches that are capable of establishing similar ministries. If you are interested in pursuing the establishment of a new congregation or starting a Hispanic ministry, please contact me at the Global Ministry Center. Let's dream big for God together!! |
