Regarding Ministry

Since persons set apart by The Churches of Christ in Christian Union for Ordained, Council and Local License are required to maintain the highest standard of holy living in the world.

Since the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching, self-avowed practicing homosexuals are not to be accepted as candidates, ordained, council or local ministers or serve in a leadership capacity in The Churches of Christ in Christian Union.

Ceremonies that celebrate homosexual unions shall not be conducted by our ministers and shall not be conducted in our churches or on church property.

Regarding Membership

Persons who wish to become members of The Churches of Christ in Christian Union accept the Holy Scriptures, which teach that the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching.  Therefore a practicing homosexual shall not hold membership in The Churches of Christ in Christian Union.

No person who is a practicing homosexual shall have any leadership position in the church such as Sunday school teacher, trustee or any other office.

While we recognize that homosexual persons are no less than heterosexual persons as individuals of worth and God's grace is available to all, we also recognize that the practice of homosexuality is a sin and pray for those persons who are living outside the teaching of the Word of God
